The Terminal Renewal and Improvement Project was a large renovation of multiple terminals at DFW Airport. This project established a fiscally responsible approach to renewing the life of Terminal A, B, C, & E while maintaining minimum disruption to their operations. The effort of extending the life of the terminals involved updating the finishes, new, high-performing glass, a large programming effort, and enhancing their concessions program. The largest part of the work involved elements that can not be seen by their passengers. Each terminal received almost all new building systems updates, completely revising the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems. New IT backbones with extensive rework of distribution and security systems, as well as all new PA and emergency message broadcasting systems.
